How do you do your daily responsibilities when you are in pain?

I am feeling better and I am getting a lot done finally. When I have kidney pain or kidney stone pain I have to take strong medicine which interferes with my daily activities. I am learning to work through the pain at times, but I rely on my great kids more than I would like too have to. They are great, but they are children and they need their mom to be healthy and active. I try to make up for the time I am sick in bed by doing extra things when I feel well.

How do you cope? Please post your comments below.

  1. I'm twenty and I didn't know I had medullary sponge kidney till I was 16 but I definitely live with it every day. Some days I don't even get out of bed and others I can't lay there another second longer. I find that I feel better when I'm out doing things with friends although the pain doesn't go away and I have to just sit down for a couple minutes my mood is a lot better which makes me feel good. The pain is something I tolerate now but it still feels like no one really gets what it's like to deal with this every day just because I don't know anyone that has it personally I've actually never even talked to anyone with it before but I decided today that maybe I should.
